Urban Waters & Wildlife Partnership
The partnership has been established through a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) as part of a collaborative effort to promote and sustain voluntary urban stormwater management improvement projects in the Upper Willamette urban areas, which include the City of Eugene, City of Springfield, and the unincorporated area known as Glenwood.
Participants in these efforts have included, but are not limited to: the Long Tom Watershed Council, McKenzie Watershed Council, Middle Fork Willamette Watershed Council, Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council, City of Eugene, City of Springfield, Eugene Water & Electric Board, Springfield Utility Board, Willamalane Park and Recreation District, Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission, Upper Willamette Soil and Water Conservation District, Upper Willamette Stewardship Network, Cascade Pacific RC&D (CPRCD), University of Oregon, and Lane County.
Each Partner has a liaison and representative to its organization. The Partnership meets monthly or as needed, according to the frequency agreed upon by the Partners, to conduct business in a participating group setting. Appropriate projects, work group formations, and courses of action are determined by a consensus of the Partners.
The Partners agree to use a Coordinator to set meetings and meeting agendas, facilitate discussions, and coordinate program activities among Partners. The Partners understand the importance of the coordinating role and commit to supporting it through their time and capacity or through the provision of funding or fundraising support.
